Gifts and Other Contributions

Pickens County Meals on Wheels does not receive any state or federal funding. We rely on donations from churches, church groups, individuals, businesses, schools, civic groups, and volunteers.

Memorials and Honorariums

Gifts in memory or honor of someone special to you can be made at any time. Contributions are often made in lieu of flowers in order to memorialize loved ones.

Cash or Check

A gift of cash or check is the most common form of donation. Both are tax deductible.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many employers will match their employee's charitable gifts through company matches. Meaning any donation you make to Pickens County Meals on Wheels, your company may make an equal donation. Some companies also reward employees for volunteering in the community by providing volunteer grants to the nonprofit you volunteer with. Many companies also have corporate foundations that fund nonprofits their employees support. Contact your human resources department to find out if your company offers these types of programs.

Stocks, Bonds, or Other Property

Pickens County Meals on Wheels accepts gifts of publicly traded stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.

  • Spinx Receipts. Save receipts from your purchases of buckets of chicken and car washes. Give them to Pickens County Meals on Wheel to redeem for cash!
