Chili Cook Off 2009
The 2009 Pickens County Meals on Wheels Chili Cook-Off, sponsored by Gwinn's Tire and Alignment, Sealevel, Sulzer Pump, King's Asphalt, Foothills Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, Bon Secours St. Francis Health, Kris Mechanical and Pumpkintown Community Club was held on April 18, 2009 at the Azalea Festival.

Food Fight Bowl
Pickens and Easley High Schools enjoy a rivalry that is widely known as one of the
fiercest in South Carolina. In 2008, the intense competition between the football
teams was harnessed to help Pickens County Meals on Wheels feed the community's
homebound elderly.

Donuts for Drivers
Meals on Wheels board and staff surprised local businesses November 16 -20,
2009, with Business Appreciation Week - delivering dozens of donuts along with
certificates of appreciation. These businesses have committed employees to drive - a generous and much-appreciated volunteer effort.

Golf Benefit
Held
every year at the Pickens County Country Club, the Pickens County Ladies Golf
Association hosts a round of golf in their Benefit Tournament for PCMOW.

Volunteer Appreciation Lunch
Last fall, Meals on Wheels held its annual Volunteer
Appreciation Luncheon, to thank the hundreds of volunteers who make fighting hunger possible in Pickens County.
