Volunteer Opportunities
Pickens County Meals on Wheels exists to combat the effects of hunger, loneliness
and isolation on senior citizens living in Pickens County, and to provide a lifeline
through the use of caring volunteers. Fill out a

Meal Delivery Drivers
Deliver hot meals daily, weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly. Using your own car, routes
usually take 1-2 hours. Must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
Substitute Drivers
Substitute for regular drivers when needed. We are always in need of substitute
drivers. You can substitute for a specific day, route, or fill-in when needed.
Clerical/Office
Provide assistance by answering phones, filing, making phone calls, and delivering
messages. This can be very flexible depending on your time available.
Mailings
Help with the mailing of our newsletter and general mailings. Our newsletter is
mailed 3 to 4 times a year and takes 2 to 3 hours of your time. Other mailings are
twice a year for about 1-2 hours.
Special Events
We hold several fundraisers throughout the year and need help with the organization
and follow through. Individuals, companies, and organizations can help with these
events. Please call us to see which one you or your company would be interested
in!
Corporate and Civic Volunteer Programs
Your company or civic group can volunteer! We offer opportunities for businesses
and groups to get involved either through driving teams or special events.
Photography and Scrapbooking
We need someone to take pictures of volunteers, recipients and special events.
